What is the distance between Périgueux and Bordeaux?
Périgueux is located 137km from Bordeaux center by freeway A89 or 128km by the departmental road.
We regularly travelled this distance by car, Blabla-car or train, since we lived in Bordeaux and our family in Périgueux.
How to connect the two cities?
By car or Blablacar
- By freeway: count about 1h38 by taking the A89 freeway, with 10€ of toll. Note that this highway is pleasant because it is not very busy.
- By road: count about 2h24 by taking the road D6089. You will cross many towns and villages, Saint Astier, Neuvic, Mussidan, Castillon la Bataille… The road is certainly a little long, in return you will save 10€ of highway.
- By carpooling: this is also an excellent option, economical and ecological, count between 6 and 12€ per trip.
By train
Count 1h30 by TER for about 23€ (without discount card). Many buses and streetcars leave from the Bordeaux train station to reach the city center.
By bus
Two companies operate between Périgueux (Créavallée) and Bordeaux (train station), Flexibus and Blablabus, count between 1h20 and 1h40 for an amount between 6 and 12€.

In Perigueux
We recommend you to stay at the Limogeanne apartments super well located, in the heart of the historical center of Perigueux, in a pedestrian street, 5 minutes from everything, Saint-Front cathedral, restaurants, tourist office…

In Bordeaux
We recommend that you stay in the city center so that you can enjoy Bordeaux on foot without having to take public transportation.
La Chartreuse Bed and Breakfast is an incredible place in the center of town, beautifully decorated. The owners will give you good advice to visit Bordeaux.
We also recommend the Moxy Bordeaux hotel, offering very nice rooms and services, a little less central, located right next to the wine city and the waterfront.
