(Ol\u00e9ronnais) 2025.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since June 2021, we&#8217;ve changed our lives, working on our own and remotely. So we can travel as we please. We&#8217;re a semi-nomadic family. <strong>working for a few years<\/strong> in our beautiful capital, Paris, we chose to leave it all behind to backpack <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/planning-round-the-world-itinerary\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2885\">around the<\/a> world for a year in 2016.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During this <strong>incredible year<\/strong>, we traveled through South America, Australia and Southeast Asia.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This adventure was supposed to be a <strong>simple break<\/strong>, but in the end it turned our lives upside down.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On our return, after a <strong>brief stay in Paris<\/strong> and <strong>many discussions<\/strong> about our future, we decided to settle in <strong>Bordeaux <\/strong>. We wanted a better <strong>work-life<\/strong> balance <strong>, <\/strong>a <strong>warmer climate<\/strong> and to be <strong>closer to our families<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthieu started <strong>his own business<\/strong> in the digital sector, while I became a <strong>teacher<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <strong>Travelling has continued to punctuate our lives<\/strong>. We took advantage of our vacations and weekends to continue our explorations in France, in Europe at <a data-ghostlink=\"link_default\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/sejour-lac-come-weekend-4-jours-que-faire-visiter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lake Como<\/a> in northern Italy, in <a data-ghostlink=\"link_default\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/voyage-montenegro-itineraire-ideal-vacances\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Montenegro<\/a>, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/voyage-pouilles-italie\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"4462\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Puglia<\/a> region of southern Italy&#8230; or around the world in <a data-ghostlink=\"link_default\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/tourisme-en-namibie-6-incontournables-de-notre-road-trip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Namibia<\/a>, <a data-ghostlink=\"link_default\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/tourisme-en-jordanie-les-6-incontournables-de-votre-voyage\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jordan<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-dominant-color=\"a68b79\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #a68b79;\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/15534816_458395934284247_2206860909442236416_n-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2683 not-transparent\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Touring_Europe_in_a_camper_van_with_your_family\"><\/span>Touring Europe in a camper van with your family<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <strong>August 2021<\/strong>, we set off for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/europe-camping-car\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"10931\">10 months in Europe by motorhome<\/a>. We crossed and explored several countries, the <strong>Portuguese<\/strong> coast, the Spanish coast <span style=\"background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);\">\n  <b>Spanish coast<\/b>\n<\/span><strong>ole, including<\/strong> the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-valencia-spain\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"7494\">Valencia<\/a>, the south of<span style=\"background-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2);\">\n  <b>Itali<\/b>\n<\/span><strong>e, including<\/strong> the sites of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-pompei\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"4107\">Pompeii<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-vesuvius-naples\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5238\">Vesuvius<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-herculanum\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"3996\">Herculaneum<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/meteores-grece\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"16271\">Greece<\/a>, <strong>Bulgaria<\/strong> and <strong>Romania<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For this trip, we wanted to slow down our pace, visiting <strong>no more than 1 or 2 places<\/strong> a week to get the most out of the trip.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthieu continued his <strong>freelance<\/strong> activity while traveling, and I took a year&#8217;s parental leave. Of course, we left with our daughter, who was 1? years old when we left. We just didn&#8217;t want to show her off on the internet, but you can see her in a few photos from behind, with her cap and glasses, or when she&#8217;s hiding!<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In June 2023, we spent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/road-trip-scandinavia\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"27431\"><strong>4 months exploring Scandinavia<\/strong> in a motorhome<\/a>. We visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/?p=51321\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"23241\">Sweden<\/a>, Norway and Denmark and its capital <a href=\"https:\/\/passion-copenhague.fr\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/passion-copenhague.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Copenhagen<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 2024, we spent <strong>2 months in a camper van exploring Scotland<\/strong>, 3 weeks in Martinique and 2 weeks in Amsterdam to create <a href=\"https:\/\/www.passion-amsterdam.fr\/hotels\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.passion-amsterdam.fr\/hotels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Passion Amsterdam<\/a>. Floriane spent a year in the Netherlands during her Erasmus year, so she knows the city like the back of her hand.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 2025, we took <strong>a short break from our travel plans, <\/strong>as we were very busy with the renovation of our <strong>house on the Ile d&#8217;Ol\u00e9ron<\/strong> and the arrival of our second baroudeur in August 2025. Nevertheless, we returned (for the 3rd time) to Vienna for 2 weeks to create <a href=\"https:\/\/www.passion-vienne.fr\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.passion-vienne.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Passion Vienne<\/a>.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In 2026, we&#8217;re planning <strong>several weeks in a rooftop tent<\/strong> with a child under the age of one &#8211; YES, we still love adventure! We can&#8217;t wait to write more about this new way of traveling. We spend many hours preparing our trips. It&#8217;s only natural that we should share our tips <strong>and advice <\/strong>with you. Each article takes us several days to write. It&#8217;s always a pleasure to read your lovely comments (here or on instagram) and respond to you.<\/p><\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the <strong>Covid <\/strong>, we opted for destinations closer to home, particularly in France. We took the opportunity to write articles about our <strong>hometowns<\/strong>, which we know by heart because our families still live there: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-angouleme\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5593\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Angoul\u00eame <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-perigueux\/\">P\u00e9rigueux<\/a>, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/sarlat-2\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"11036\">Sarlat<\/a> in the Dordogne.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our favorite vacation spots are the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/oleron-island-beaches\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5785\"> Ile d&#8217;Ol\u00e9ron<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-rochefort\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5498\">Rochefort<\/a> region, La Rochelle, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/roadtrip-brittany-motorhome\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5878\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brittany<\/a>&#8230; as well as the cities where we have lived for many years, such as Bordeaux and Paris.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default
