You will find a <strong>gas station<\/strong>, a <strong>convenience store<\/strong> and two<strong>lodging<\/strong> options (a lodge and a campground).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>pass to visit the site<\/strong> is on sale at the campsite reception.  <strong>Schedules<\/strong> can be consulted on site.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the entrance to the site (still <strong>point A<\/strong> on the map), you will have to drive about <strong>60 km<\/strong> on <strong>a tarred road<\/strong> through the dunes before reaching the entrance to the <strong>Sossusvlei<\/strong> site<strong>(point B on the map below<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Then the <strong>last 5 kilometers in the sand<\/strong> require a <strong>4\u00d74<\/strong>. It was our first trip in a 4&#215;4 on sand, it is feasible even for novices. Just deflate your tires slightly and follow the tracks.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The site also offers <strong>shuttles for visitors without a 4&#215;4<\/strong> or those who dare not venture into the sand in a 4&#215;4. You can leave your vehicle at the entrance of the site. The price is about 6\u20ac round trip, it leaves as soon as it is full.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here you are on the site, you just have to enjoy the <strong>sites, each one more beautiful than the other<\/strong>!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"lazyblock-conseils-et-hebergements-6UCgg wp-block-lazyblock-conseils-et-hebergements\"><div class=\"conseils-hebergements\"><span class=\"titre-conseils\"><i class=\"fas fa-map-marked-alt\"><\/i>Our advice<\/span>\n<p><p><strong>Admission <\/strong>: N$80 per person per day (approx. \u20ac5). Open from 5.45 a.m. to 5 p.m., site hours to be consulted on site.<\/p><p>Leave as soon as the site opens to enjoy the sunrise over <strong>Big Mama<\/strong>. Please note that 2 days are enough, as you certainly know we like to take our time to explore the sites thoroughly.<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Day 1: <\/strong> Departure around 3pm from the campsite, exploration of <strong>Dead Vlei<\/strong>, <strong>Big Daddy<\/strong> and sunset on <strong>Dune 45<\/strong><br \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Day 2<\/strong>: Departure to the opening of <strong>Big Mama<\/strong> and <strong>Hidden Vlei<\/strong> and sunset on <strong>Elim Dune<\/strong><br \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Day 3<\/strong>: <strong>Sesriem Canyon<\/strong> then departure for Namibrand reserve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-dominant-color=\"b8cfbe\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #b8cfbe;\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/sossusvlei-1.jpg?fit=920%2C476\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3491 not-transparent\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Dead_Vlei_and_Big_Daddy_Dune\"><\/span>Dead Vlei and Big Daddy Dune<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p><strong>Dead Vlei <\/strong> &#8220;<strong data-rich-text-format-boundary=\"true\">dead swamp&#8221;<\/strong>is a clay basin on which lie dead, sun-dried trees.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a <strong>unique<\/strong> and <strong>photogenic<\/strong> place, as you can see from the photos below!<\/p>\n<p>You will be impressed by the strong contrast between the white ground, the orange sand dunes and the blue sky.<\/p>\n<p>We stayed on the site for a long time. There are two options for exploring the site, park your car in the parking lot in front of the site.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Walk 20 minutes<\/strong> in the sand (about 1.5km) from the parking lot before reaching the site.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Climb to the top of Big Daddy, <\/strong>the highest dune in <strong>Sossusvlei, <\/strong>for a breathtaking view of <strong>Dead Vlei<\/strong>. Two accommodation options are available to you.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sesriem_camping_site\"><\/span>Sesriem camping site  <span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The site is managed by the<strong> NWR<\/strong>, we advise you to book your nights and locations in advance.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The locations farthest from the reception are more widely spaced.
