We&#8217;d also seen reports extolling the beauty of the<strong>Stockholm archipelago<\/strong>. class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">By amphibious bus<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We discovered these <strong>amazing buses<\/strong> that run through the center of Stockholm. You won&#8217;t want to miss these big buses painted with a blue or pink whale effigy, which roll through the city streets and then transform into a &#8220;boat&#8221; for a cruise along the coast of S\u00f6dermalm Island.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We looked it up online, and for 1 hour the bus takes you through the <strong>streets of Stockholm<\/strong> and its <strong>archipelago<\/strong>. According to the reviews, it&#8217;s a surprisingly pleasant experience. Ils s&#8217;utilisent comme des bateau bus, en permettant de relier les \u00eeles entre elles. <em>Informations et prix sur le <a href=\"https:\/\/sl.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">site officiel <\/a>des transports de la ville de Stockholm.<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So we took advantage of the opportunity to take a short tour on the <strong>boat bus<\/strong> to test things out. This requires a bit of organization, as the first trip didn&#8217;t take us anywhere near where we wanted to go.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ll tell you all about it (route in pink on our map), <strong>bus 82<\/strong> took us from the historic center (Slussen kajen stop) to the Tivoli Grona Land amusement park (Allm\u00e4nna gr\u00e4nd stop), on the museum island of Djaurgarden. You can also stop off to visit Stockholm&#8217;s various museums, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/vasa-museum-stockholm\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"19563\">Vasa<\/a> Museum and Skansen Park.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We then took the <strong>80 bus<\/strong> to the <strong>Frihamnen<\/strong> terminal. The weather was great, and it was a pleasant little 30-minute stroll (so very quick). We saw some beautiful houses, moais, and even a giraffe! This is one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/what-to-do-around-stockholm\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"26083\">must-do activities around Stockholm<\/a>. To get to Vaxholm from Stockholm, <a href=\"https:\/\/waxholmsbolaget.se\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/waxholmsbolaget.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Waxholmsbolaget<\/a> ferries run regular services between several islands in the archipelago, including <strong>Vaxholm<\/strong> and <strong>Gringa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Payment is made on the boat. The terminal from which the company&#8217;s ferries depart is &#8220;Str\u00f6mkajen&#8221; (orange dot on our map), south of the Norrmalm district and next to the Gamla Stan district.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Vaxholm: Stockholm&#8217;s closest island<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Vaxholm<\/strong> is the best-known and closest island, about <strong>1 hour by boat from the historic center<\/strong>. We advise you to take a close look at the online timetables on the company&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/waxholmsbolaget.se\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/waxholmsbolaget.se\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">website<\/a>, as it&#8217;s not easy to find your way around on site.<em> (ticket price approx. \u20ac15, to be paid on board by credit card).<\/em><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once there, you can visit the small town of <strong>Vaxholm<\/strong> and its <strong>fortress<\/strong>, then head along the coast to explore part of this wild island. Weather permitting, you can take advantage of the opportunity to swim on one of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/beaches-stockholm\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"43227\">Stockholm&#8217;<\/a>s most beautiful <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/beaches-stockholm\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"43227\">beaches<\/a>. The colorful wooden houses are always beautifully decorated. We loved wandering around this natural, verdant setting. You can even pick a few berries for a well-deserved break. Sweden is definitely a delight for nature lovers. had hesitated with Grinda Island (same company), which is further away (2 hours from the center of Stockholm, including a 4-hour round trip), as it is possible to <a href=\"https:\/\/grinda.se\/en\/aktiviteter\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/grinda.se\/en\/aktiviteter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">rent kayaks<\/a> to circumnavigate the island. Here&#8217;s some information shared by an expat friend (thanks, Coline, if you&#8217;re passing by) that we&#8217;re keeping preciously for our next stay in Stockholm.
