The band won the 1974<strong>Eurovision<\/strong> Song Contest with <strong>Waterloo<\/strong>, a song sung in English, which was rare for a non-English-speaking band at the time.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This success opened the door to an international market for <strong>Abba<\/strong>. The band then followed up with hits such as <strong>Mama Mia<\/strong> and <strong>Dancing Queen<\/strong>,  <strong>Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Abba&#8217;s success is also due to his <strong>elaborate<\/strong> <strong>stage performances<\/strong>, with increasingly eccentric, colorful and sequined <strong>costumes <\/strong>. The band quickly realized that its image was as important as its music, which was a forerunner in the <strong>70s<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The band went their separate ways in 1981, but they&#8217;re still very much in the public eye. Then in 1999, the <strong>musical Mamma Mia<\/strong>, co-written with 3 members of the group, was a worldwide success. This made our visit much easier, as we were well guided. It&#8217;s a truly interactive museum, with <strong>screens<\/strong> everywhere, fun activities, and even a unique device that lets you <strong>sing<\/strong> and <strong>dance<\/strong> along with the band members.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reconstructions of the <strong>various rooms<\/strong> (recording studio, dressing rooms, costume workshop&#8230;) are full of realism and detail. In short, you&#8217;ll never see the time go by.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We began our visit with a beautiful <strong>film<\/strong> tracing the<strong>history<\/strong> of Abba, featuring the biggest hits and the many performances around the world.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We then got to see <strong>replicas of the vehicles<\/strong> used by the group, and the rest of the tour focuses on the<strong>history<\/strong> of each member of the group, with photos and videos, and explanatory panels in English.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next room, one of my favorites, is a recreation of the <strong>music studio<\/strong> where most of the band&#8217;s songs were recorded. <strong>Recording booths<\/strong> with microphones are available for singing. It&#8217;s not every day we get to sing in the studio, so now&#8217;s the time to sing <strong>Mama Mia<\/strong> very, very loudly.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We then passed through several areas showing the life of the band, the <strong>dressing rooms<\/strong>, the <strong>costume<\/strong> workshop, an area with all the album<strong> covers<\/strong>, the <strong>awards<\/strong>&#8230;  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, the last part of the museum explains the reasons for the group&#8217;s split, as well as the various works produced afterwards: the <strong>musical<\/strong> <strong>Mama Mia<\/strong>, the albums, the <strong>film&#8230;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped is-style-rectangular wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-dominant-color=\"5f4a33\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #5f4a33;\" decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"25181\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/zbdspnflwdg.jpg\" alt=\"a wall of video games\" class=\"wp-image-25181 not-transparent\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-dominant-color=\"3c383d\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #3c383d;\" decoding=\"async\" data-id=\"25573\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/cq5p_jwa3di-683x1024.webp\" alt=\"a machine with a screen\" class=\"wp-image-25573 not-transparent\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">The part not to be missed<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We recommend that you don&#8217;t miss this <strong>part of the museum<\/strong>, as it&#8217;s truly a unique experience.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were able to get up on a stage with a <strong>microphone<\/strong> where we could sing and dance, accompanied by holograms of the Abba band member.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s as if we were on stage with them, it&#8217;s very realistic. If you want to laugh and have a good time, go for it!<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Duration_of_visit_Abba_museum\"><\/span>Duration of visit Abba museum<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We stayed about 2 hours.
