Before we moved to the Ile d’Ol\u00e9ron, it was one of our favorite destinations for a few days’ vacation. So we’ve had the opportunity to try out a number of campsites and vacation homes during our various stays on the Ile d’Ol\u00e9ron.<\/p>\n\n

We list below our favorite campsites on the Ile d’Ol\u00e9ron along with useful information (proximity to beaches, swimming pool, activities on offer, location…). <\/p>\n\n

Our top 8 campsites on the Ile d’Ol\u00e9ron<\/h2>\n\n

On the Ile d’Ol\u00e9ron, things to see and do are spread out all over the island. We therefore advise you to choose central accommodation, so that you can get to the various points of interest easily and close to the ocean. To discover all our tourist tips, read our article on the island of Oleron<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n

In our opinion, the best place to stay is on the coast, close to Ch\u00e2teau d’Ol\u00e9ron, La Cotini\u00e8re<\/strong> or Saint-Pierre<\/strong>, where you’ll have easy access to one of the west coast’s great beaches, and you’ll be able to take advantage of the many night-time activities in high season.<\/p>\n\n

If you really want to be at the center of Ol\u00e9ronaise life, we recommend the village of Saint-Pierre or Dolus-d’Ol\u00e9ron, where you can enjoy the many restaurants and markets while being only a few kilometers from the beaches.<\/p>\n\n

A quick note before we start: obviously, we didn’t test all the campsites on the Ile d’Ol\u00e9ron. This selection has been made from among those we have tested and those that have been recommended to us. As we live on Ol\u00e9ron, we’ve suggested some campsites that are also ideally located for visiting the island. We pass a number of campsites every day. 1. On the coast near Ch\u00e2teau d’Ol\u00e9ron: a campsite with its feet in the water<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Camping Ostrea<\/a>: a family-run campsite,<\/strong> located on the south side of the island on the Route des Hu\u00eetres<\/strong> (one of our favorite coastal roads in Ol\u00e9ron) and next tothe colorful descabanes de la Baudissi\u00e8re<\/strong> (where we buy our Chez Mamelou oysters). An ideal location for easy access between the south and the center of Ol\u00e9ron<\/strong>, without spending too much time in the car.<\/p>\n\n

This campsite has a lovely swimming pool (covered & heated in mid-season). An ideal family campsite. Types of accommodation: mobile homes, cottages and ecolodges for 4 to 8 people, with superb modern facilities. Little extras: bike path at the foot of the campsite (3.5km from Ch\u00e2teau d’Ol\u00e9ron and Zorba’s guiguette), p\u00e9tanque court with sea view & great team.<\/p>\n

2. Camping L’Anse des Pins<\/strong> Saint Georges d’Ol\u00e9ron \u2605\u2605\u2605\u2605<\/sup>: for families<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

This family-run campsite<\/a>, located west of Saint-Georges-d’Ol\u00e9ron<\/strong> in the north of the island, offers easy access to the north of the island.<\/p>\n\n

It overlooks the ocean<\/strong>, which you can enjoy on some of the pitches. This campsite has beautiful indoor and outdoor pools, with waterslides, a paddling pool and a pirate structure. The beautiful sandy beach of Domino<\/strong> is just 500 metres away on foot. An ideal waterfront family campsite! He has an excellent reputation.<\/p>\n\n

3. Camping les Flots Atlantique \u2605\u2605<\/sup>: close to La Cotini\u00e8re at a low price <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

Camping les Flots Atlantique village<\/a>: we tested this campsite with our motorhome<\/strong>. It’s ideally located south of the fishing port of La Cotini\u00e8re on the coast near Dolus-d’Ol\u00e9ron and La P\u00e9rroche beach. If you go kitsurfing, part of the beach is reserved for this activity.<\/p>\n\n

It is a human-sized and family campsite with <\/strong>direct access to the ocean, by a small footpath, which offers bungalows<\/strong>, tents<\/strong>, chalets<\/strong> for rent. An ideal choice at a low price.<\/p>\n

<\/i>Camping les Flots Atlantique village<\/span>\n

– Location<\/strong>: on the coast south of La Cotini\u00e8re, near Dolus-d’Ol\u00e9ron <\/p>\n
