to our organization&#8217;s ability to <strong>work and travel at the same time<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019ll give you an initial answer right away: it\u2019s<strong>organization<\/strong> \u2014and it\u2019s not always easy to carve out enough time to make progress on our professional activities.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ve tried to give you <strong>a glimpse into <\/strong>our <strong>family&#8217;s <\/strong>daily <strong>routine <\/strong>, to offer you some tips on how to (semi) digital nomads?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;ll start by briefly introducing ourselves to give you an idea of who we are and our background as digital nomads.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We took our first year-long <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/planning-round-the-world-itinerary\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"2885\">trip around the world<\/a> in 2016, which we funded with our savings.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthieu has been working as a freelance SEO consultant since 2019, and as for me, I\u2019ve been self-employed since June 2021; I handle our digital activities related to our <strong>travel blog<\/strong>. We also run a <strong>short-term rental business; we <\/strong>handled guest relations (responding to messages, calls, etc.) until March 2023. All of our activities are now digital, which is why we can travel whenever we want.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our daughter was born in 2020. Then, <strong>in 2021<\/strong>, we bought our <strong>camper van<\/strong>, which we used to take several long trips during which we were able to travel and work at the same time: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>2021\u20132022: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/europe-camping-car\/\">10 months in Southern Europe<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2023: 4 months in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/road-trip-scandinavia\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"27431\">Northern Europe<\/a> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2024: A 2-month trip to England and Scotland is in the works.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Several weeks of vacation in France, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/roadtrip-brittany-motorhome\/\">Brittany<\/a>, the northeastern region, and the area around Lyon<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We call ourselves <strong>semi-nomads<\/strong> because between each long trip, we return to France. We used to live in Bordeaux, and now we live on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/visit-oleron-island\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"5825\">the \u00cele d\u2019Ol\u00e9ron<\/a>, where we\u2019d like to set up our base camp. Some days we&#8217;re out all day, while on others we just relax&#8230; <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall, we try to <strong>organize things this way<\/strong> so we can go about our professional activities with peace of mind. You can read about our experience in our \u201cTour of Europe\u201d article. <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Optimizing travel time<\/strong>: One person drives while the other works\u2014if you don&#8217;t get carsick, this is a great way to save time<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Try to <strong>divide up the various daily tasks as best as possible<\/strong> so that both adults aren&#8217;t tied up with routine chores.  <br\/><br\/>For example, I <strong>take our daughter grocery shopping<\/strong>, so Matthieu can work for an hour while we wait. Matthieu, on the other hand, takes care of the chores, which gives me time to work on other tasks. <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Have a comfortable work setup that&#8217;s easy to set up<\/strong> so you can get started quickly.  <br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find <strong>a comfortable spot<\/strong> to sit\u2014not on a camping chair on the beach like Matthieu.
