Travelling to the Dominican Republic is child’s play thanks to numerous direct flights from France.\nRegular flights are available from a number of French cities, including Paris, Lyon…\nWe advise you to compare the price of flights from different cities to find what you’re looking for. <\/p>\n\n

For our part, we flew with Air<\/strong> Cara\u00efbes, which offered the best price for a flight from Lyon to the Dominican Republic<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to competitive fares, the company offers excellent on-board service and direct flights, reducing travel time and increasing your vacation time under the Caribbean sun. <\/p>\n\n

For families, children are really well looked after, their meals are served first and they are offered little goodies, enough to keep them occupied for a few minutes!\nWe also flew with this airline for our trip to Martinique in February, and our daughter loved it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who don’t know the Dominican Republic at all, it’s located in the Caribbean<\/strong>, more precisely on the island ofHispaniola<\/strong>, which it shares with Haiti.<\/p>\n\n

The Dominican Republic occupies the eastern part of the island.\nIt lies to the east of Cuba and to the west of Puerto Rico, offering a central point between the Greater Antilles and the Lesser Antilles. <\/p>\n\n

With a surface area of 48,671 km\u00b2, it is one of the largest islands in the Caribbean, offering a diversity of landscapes ranging from idyllic beaches to verdant mountains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, is a city rich in history and culture.\nThis is where you’ll find the Colonial Quarter<\/strong>, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can stroll along cobblestone streets lined with colorful buildings dating back to colonial times.\nWe loved the atmosphere here, and the visit reminded us of our trip to Cuba. <\/p>\n\n

For food lovers, Santo Domingo offers a variety of restaurants serving delicious local cuisine, as well as quaint caf\u00e9s where you can enjoy a good Dominican coffee.\nWe recommend a stop at the Mercado Modelo<\/strong>, a covered market where you’re sure to find what you’re looking for! <\/p>\n\n

One last point: if you like to get off the beaten track, this part of the island is generally less visited, and we think that’s a shame. The good thing is that even in high season, the town remains relatively uncrowded.<\/p>\n\n

3. Saman\u00e1 Peninsula<\/h3>\n\n

The Saman\u00e1 peninsula offers breathtaking scenery and, once again, heavenly beaches.\nFrom January to March, you can watch the humpback whales that come to the bay<\/strong> to breed. <\/p>\n\n

The immense Coson<\/strong> beach, with its golden sands and clear waters, is the beach not to be missed in Saman\u00e1.<\/p>\n\n
