From several major French cities, including Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Nantes, Nice, Toulouse and Montpellier, you&#8217;ll find <strong>direct flights<\/strong> to <strong>Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI)<\/strong>. This is the island&#8217;s only international airport, located 9 km east of Palma.  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>From Paris<\/strong>: approx. 2h to 2h20 flight time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>From Lyon, Nantes, Marseille, Toulouse<\/strong>: often between 1h45 and 2h30<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>From Nice<\/strong>: around 1h30<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prices vary enormously depending on the season, but if you book early, you can regularly find tickets for around \u20ac40-60 one-way on <strong>low-cost airlines<\/strong>, with one <strong>carry-on bag<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x27a1;&#xfe0f; A little tip for saving money on your tickets during vacation periods or bank holidays: <strong>leaving a day earlier or returning a day later<\/strong> often results in impressively lower fares&#8230; even if this sometimes means taking an extra day off work.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong>Benefits  <\/strong><\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong>Disadvantages<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\">Fast, simple, perfect for a short stay.<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-center\" data-align=\"center\"><strong> <\/strong>Prices can rise during May bank holidays.<br\/>Friday evening flights are often the most expensive.  <\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-dominant-color=\"645f5a\" data-has-transparency=\"false\" style=\"--dominant-color: #645f5a;\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/f756a36e-599d-494f-aea4-020f4b9c3cc4.jpg\" alt=\"Palma de Mallorca\" class=\"wp-image-70695 not-transparent\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/f756a36e-599d-494f-aea4-020f4b9c3cc4.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/f756a36e-599d-494f-aea4-020f4b9c3cc4-400x267.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Car_ferry_getting_to_Palma_de_Mallorca_without_flying\"><\/span>Car + ferry: getting to Palma de Mallorca without flying<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We&#8217;re also considering the option of taking our <strong>car with a roof tent<\/strong>, so we&#8217;re looking seriously at ways of traveling this way.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If, like us, you prefer to bring your own vehicle or turn the trip into a road trip, the ferry option from the south of France works really well.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We loved taking ferries with our motorhome during our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/europe-camping-car\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"10931\">tour of Southern Europe<\/a> and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pourquoi-pas-nous.com\/en\/road-trip-scandinavia\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"27431\">road trip in Scandinavia<\/a>. It&#8217;s a way of traveling that offers enormous freedom, is very easy with children and, sometimes, can even be more economical than other options.<br\/><br\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Possible departure ports (prices are similar):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Toulon \u2192 Alc\u00fadia<\/strong> (north of Majorca)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>S\u00e8te \u2192 Palma or Alc\u00fadia<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Crossings last between <strong>10 and 20 hours<\/strong>, depending on the company and timetable.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Perfect if you like the idea of traveling &#8220;slowly&#8221;, with a short night in the cabin and the impression of a real change of scenery when you wake up in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.portsdebalears.com\/es\/palma\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.portsdebalears.com\/es\/palma\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">port<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x27a1;&#xfe0f; For 2 adults, 2 children + 1 car: approx. 200\u20ac one way. As an added bonus, you&#8217;ll arrive directly at Palma harbor, with an incredible view of the cathedral overlooking the bay. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And for those who want to keep their budget under control while enjoying the comfort of a large ship, you can be sure that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.croisieres.com\/compagnie\/costa-croisieres\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">costa croisi\u00e8res offers an adapted price range<\/a><\/strong>especially in spring.
