Anfiteatro (amphitheatre) &#x2764;&#xfe0f;&#x2764;&#xfe0f;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is one <strong>of the oldest Roman amphitheaters visible to this day almost intact<\/strong>. Its size is impressive, 20,000 spectators could attend the gladiatorial shows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, concerts are held there, and there&#8217;s even a permanent exhibition on the artists who have trodden its soil, such as Pink Floyd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Palestra_grande_big_palestra_%E2%80%93_gymnasium_%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8F\"><\/span>2. Palestra grande (big palestra &#8211; gymnasium) &#x2764;&#xfe0f;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is<strong> the old gymnasium<\/strong>, where gladiators used to train. Again, the building is huge. It&#8217;s a shame, as few houses are accessible and most are closed for renovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This house is famous for <strong>a fresco of two lovers kissing with modesty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Casa_del_menandro_Menanders_house_%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8F%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8F%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8F\"><\/span>6. What is interesting is that the seat numbers are still marked on some of the bleachers. Almost 2000 years later, it&#8217;s crazy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"10_Lupanare_Pompeiis_famous_brothel_%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8F%E2%9D%A4%EF%B8%8F\"><\/span>10. Lupanare (Pompeii&#8217;s famous brothel) &#x2764;&#xfe0f;&#x2764;&#xfe0f;<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the <strong>brothels <\/strong>of Pompeii, necessarily hidden in a small alley. The walls feature numerous frescoes of a sexual nature.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We learned it by listening to a guide present on the spot with his group, at the time many merchants crossed Pompeii to convey or sell their goods. Since there was no common language, the paintings helped the customers to understand each other. Note also that the street seems to have been used a lot, considering the wheel marks in the road&#8230;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We managed to glean some information by &#8220;<strong>quietly&#8221; joining<\/strong>groups from time to time. From mid-morning onwards, the buses pour in hordes of tourists.
