Ibiza. The very name conjures up images of golden beaches, legendary parties and unforgettable sunsets. But there’s more to the white Balearic island than its reputation as a party destination. Behind the turntables and cocktails, Ibiza hides a more intimate, wilder and more authentic face. Just step away from the hustle and bustle and you’ll come across secret coves, villages frozen in time, paths winding through the pines… and discover an island full of contrasts and emotions.
We’ll take you on a complete exploration, from iconic spots to hidden corners, with all our advice and a great dose of inspiration for experiencing the best of Ibiza.

Where to stay in Ibiza: between discreet luxury and breathtaking views
To really enjoy the unique atmosphere of Ibiza, nothing beats a house with a view, lost in the hills or close to a cove. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, with family or friends, choosing to rent a house in Ibiza allows you to discover the island at your own pace, far from the crowded hotels.
Some villas offer infinity pools, terraces with sea views, outdoor kitchens… in short, everything you need for a vacation combining freedom and comfort. What’s more, it’s the perfect option for exploring all the island’s nooks and crannies during the day, then meeting up for a quiet dinner.

Dalt Vila: plunge into history in the heart of the old town
It’s impossible to visit Ibiza without passing through Dalt Vila, the old town perched on its hill, aUNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the historic heart of the island, the one you explore on foot, along cobbled streets, whitewashed facades and steep staircases leading to incredible views over the bay.
You can stroll along the cobbled streets, stop off at a small art gallery, climb up to Santa Maria Cathedral, then descend the ramparts as the sun sets over the sea. In the evening, the terraces come alive and some bars even offer intimate live concerts.
⚠️ We strongly advise you to visit in the early morning, when the light is soft and there are fewer people. As the old town is built on high ground, it’s best to avoid the hottest hours of the afternoon: the heat can quickly become overwhelming.

Iconic beaches: Cala Comte, Cala Bassa and Las Salinas
Ibiza also boasts picture-postcard beaches, where the turquoise waters rival those of the world’s finest. Some of them are very popular, but are not to be missed.
- Cala Comte, to the west of Ibiza, is undoubtedly the most spectacular. Golden sand, crystal-clear sea and small coves within walking distance make it an ideal spot to spend the day. The Sunset Ashram, set high up, offers a magical view of the sunset with a perfectly chosen soundtrack.
- Nearby Cala Bassa is more family-friendly. Here you’ll find a beautiful beach, pine trees for shade and rocks perfect for playing or snorkeling.
- And then there’s Las Salinas, to the south, a long beach surrounded by pine trees, a popular spot with locals and celebrities alike, but also perfect for a stroll to the ancient salt flats.
➡️ Tip: come early in the morning to enjoy the peace and quiet, especially in summer.

Inland: white villages and bohemian markets
Behind the beaches, Ibiza hides rolling countryside, dotted with fig and almond trees and small white villages. The atmosphere here is quieter, more authentic. This is where you’ll feel the soul of Ibiza at its best.
In Santa Gertrudis, the main square is surrounded by art galleries and local boutiques. It’s a chic, relaxed village, much appreciated by artists. Not far away, San Juan de Labritja and San Carlos have an even quieter atmosphere, with traditional bars and craft markets.
Hippie markets are an institution on the island. Las Dalias is the best known: bohemian clothing, handmade jewelry, incense, street food and live music.

Secret getaways: hidden coves and confidential spots
Those looking to get away from the crowds will love what follows. Because Ibiza is also home to unspoilt spots, accessible on foot or by boat, where you’ll feel all alone in the world.
We loved Es Portitxol, in the north of the island. It’s about a 30-minute walk from the parking lot, up a steep path, but the reward is at the end: a horseshoe-shaped cove, lined with cliffs, with transparent water as far as the eye can see. The place is perfect for swimming, snorkeling or just lying in the sun, away from it all.
Another confidential and somewhat mystical place: Sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort, also known as Atlantis. Formerly a quarry, it now forms an astonishing landscape of rock pools, geometric stone blocks and sculpted symbols. Accessible only on foot, the descent (and especially the ascent) is steep, but clearly worth the effort, especially at sunrise.
⚠️ Remember to pack comfortable shoes.

Ibiza road trip: in search of freedom
Renting a car (or scooter) and setting off on an adventure is one of the best ways to discover Ibiza. The distances are short, the roads magnificent and the scenery changing at every turn.
In 4 or 5 days, you can easily circumnavigate the island and explore the different villages.
Tip: always keep a bottle of water and good shoes in the boot, as some coves have to be earned!
Ibiza, an island of a thousand facets to be rediscovered on every trip
Ibiza can’t be summed up. It’s a place to discover, slowly, by touch, as you meet people, walk along beaches and footpaths. It’s a land of contrasts, between luxury and simplicity, party and peace, sea and mountains. An island to experience as much as to visit.
So, whether you come for its iconic locations or to lose yourself in its secret escapades, open your eyes wide: Ibizawill surprise you. Again and again.
