Avant notre installation à l’île d’Oléron, c’était l’une de nos destinations préférées pour passer quelques jours de vacances. Nous avons donc eu l’occasion de tester de nombreux campings et résidences de vacances lors de nos différents séjours à l’île d’Oléron.

À l’île d’Oléron, les choses à faire et à voir sont réparties sur l’ensemble de l’île. Nous vous conseillons donc de choisir un hébergement central, pour pouvoir aller aux différents points d’intérêt facilement et à proximité de l’océan. L’idéal selon nous est de se loger sur la côte à proximité de la Cotinière ou de Saint-Pierre, vous pourrez accéder facilement à l’une des grandes plages de la côte ouest et vous pourrez profiter des nombreuses activités nocturnes en haute saison.
If you really want to be at the center of Oléronaise life, we recommend the village of Saint-Pierre or Dolus-d’Oléron, where you can enjoy the many restaurants and markets while being only a few kilometers from the beaches.
Petite note avant de commencer : évidemment, nous n’avons pas testé tous les campings à l’île d’Oléron. Cette sélection a été faite parmi ceux que nous avons testés et ceux qui nous ont été recommandés. Comme nous vivons à Oléron, nous vous avons proposé des campings qui sont aussi idéalement situés pour visiter l’île. Nous passons quotidiennement devant certains campings. 1. Camping les Flots Atlantique ★★: close to La Cotinière at low prices
Camping les Flots Atlantique village : nous avons testé ce camping avec notre camping-car. Il est idéalement situé au sud du port de pêche de la Cotinière sur la cote à proximité de Dolus-d’Oléron et de la plage de la Pérroche. Si vous pratiquez le kitsurf une partie de la plage est reservée pour cette activité.
It is a human-sized and family campsite with direct access to the ocean, by a small footpath, which offers bungalows, tents, chalets for rent. An ideal choice at a low price.
– Location: on the coast south of La Cotinière and near Dolus-d’Oléron

– Advantages: with direct ocean access, small campsite, sporting activities pig-pong, mini golf…
2. Camping Oléron Loisirs ★★★★: with water park
Un deuxième camping qu enous avons eu l’occasion de tester, le camping Oléron Loisirs. Un site familial, situé au sud de Saint-Georges-d’Oléron au nord-est de l’île, que nous avons trouvé parfait pour visiter le nord de l’île dont le village de Saint-Georges d’Oléron, le petit port du Douet, et le célèbre phare de Chassiron. Zr un dernier point à noter et pas de smoindres, la belle plage de sable fin de la Gautrelle est située à 3km.
The main advantage of this campsite is its huge water park with heated swimming pool, slides and paddling pool, ideal for keeping the kids busy for a long time, ideal for families. It offers a wide range of organized activities for all ages, including evening entertainment for adults.

3. Camping l’Anse des Pins ★★★★: for families
This family-run campsite, located west of Saint-Georges-d’Oléron in the north of the island, offers easy access to the north of the island.
It overlooks the ocean, which you can enjoy on some of the pitches. This campsite has beautiful indoor and outdoor pools, with waterslides, a paddling pool and a pirate structure. The beautiful sandy beach of Domino is just 500 metres away on foot. An ideal waterfront family campsite! He has an excellent reputation.

4. Residence Le Village des Amareyeurs: at Chateau d’Oléron
La résidence des Amareyeurs, située au Chateau d’Oléron, propose de jolies villas mitoyennes en location avec terrasse et piscine partagée.
The advantage of this residence is its location 10 minutes’ walk from the Chateau d’Oléron town center with its daily summer market, and 15 minutes’ walk from the beach (300 m).
Château d’Oléron is one of our favorite villages on the island. Located on the south-east coast, at the entrance to the island, you’ll find all that the Ile d’Oléron has to offer: a picturesque village, a beautiful fortress, an oyster-farming port, pretty huts and a lovely view over the bridge.

5. Camping Les Gros Joncs (Saint-Georges-d’Oléron) ★★: with swimming pool
A pleasant family campsite in the northwest of the island, with access to the beach, an aquatic area and a wellness area with spa and massages. The accommodation is well-equipped and the camping area is pleasant. Another good option in the north of the island.

6. Les Hameaux des Marines ★★: by the ocean
Located in the north of the island, in Saint-Denis d’Oléron, on the east coast, this campsite with swimming pool offers chalets in a calm, green setting, just a stone’s throw from the beach.
– Location: Saint Denis, north of Ile d’Oléron
– Types of accommodation: chalets for 2 to 6 people
– Price: €€ – €€€
– Advantages: indoor pools and beach access on foot
7. Campsite Les Pins d’Oléron ★★★★: with camper reception
Shady campsite ideally located in the south of the island in the commune of Grand-Village-Plage, near the bridge, with shops nearby and cycle paths. You can easily visit the small village of Saint-Trojan, the port of Les Salines and, in just a few minutes, the superb beach of La Giraudière.
It’s an ideal family campsite, with a lovely sandy pool– which isn’t very common – and a playground.
– Location: Grand Village Plage, south of the island, near the viaduct
– Types of accommodation: mobile homes for 2 to 6 people, canvas bungalows for 5 people, Safaris Lodges for 6 or 8 people and camping pitches.

– Advantages: swimming pools and location in the south of the island
8. Camping Le Sous Bois ★★★, near Saint Pierre
This is a very affordable campsite in a beautiful natural setting 1km from the fishing port of La Cotinière and next to Saint-Pierre. It’s a wooded, comfortable campsite. For swimming, Les Bonnes and Matha beaches are just 2km away.

– Types of accommodation: mobile homes (some with Jacuzzi), tent, camper and caravan pitches

Are there any campsites open all year round on the Ile d’Oléron?
On the Ile d’Oléron, campsites are generally open from April to September/October. Les Cercelles campsite, south of Saint Pierre, is one of the few open all year round.
