Why sleep on the island of Capri?

If your schedule allows, staying at least 1 night on the island of Capri remains one of the best ways to enjoy Capri’s unique atmosphere in the evening, when most visitors leave by boat.

In high season, sea connections to Naples and Sorrento run all day, making the port and tourist areas, such as the small village of Capri, particularly busy.

Bear in mind, however, that as on many Italian islands, prices on Capri are higher than elsewhere. Further down in the article, we share some tips on how to limit your expenses.

To make it easier for you to find your way around, we have grouped together our best addresses on this interactive map:

Sleeping in the village of Anacapri: the economical option

Anacapri is about 3 km from Capri. The village is less crowded and offers a more local atmosphere. We particularly enjoyed strolling through the quiet, flower-filled lanes.

Most day visitors stay around the port and village of Capri, just 1 km from the pier, making Anacapri a much quieter place.

To reach Anacapri, we took the bus from Piazza Umberto I in Capri, a simple and regular route.
