Lecco is one of the southernmost towns on Lake Como. We like it because it’s a lovely little town by the lake and much less touristy than its neighbors Varenna, Bellagio… In short, it’s a good idea to go!
How to get to Lecco?
By car
If you’ve rented a car, you can easily reach Lecco from Milan, about 1 hour’s drive.
By ferry
You can also take a ferry from Como to Lecco. You will enjoy beautiful views in the middle of the lake and you will have no difficulty parking!

An agriturismo at 5 minutes drive from Lecco
The agriculturismo are the equivalent of our chambres d’hotes, usually beautifully renovated old farmhouses, combining modern comforts with old-world charm.
We recommend that you stay atAgriturismo Deviscio, located 5 minutes from Lecco on the hillside, where you’ll enjoy incredible views and absolute peace and quiet.
The rooms are large, comfortable and well renovated. Breakfast is made with local produce, and you can also dine on site.
An ideal hotel close to the city center
NH Lecco Pontevecchio: the hotel is very pleasant and offers a beautiful view of the lake. It’s just a 5-minute walk from Lecco. It is the best value for money in Lecco!

What to visit in Lecco?
Walk along the lake: Lungolago di Lecco
As in all lakeside villages, the lakeside promenade is the main activity. We took the opportunity to admire the beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains while enjoying a delicious ice cream. Yes, another one!
Piani d’Erna cable car
This is the second must-do activity during your stay, ideal with children. The funicular is a 10-minute drive from Lecco, and you can either park in the adjoining parking lot (€3 per day) or take the line 5 bus from Lecco. Cable car €10 per adult.
We took the cable car up to an altitude of 1,375 meters, and once at the top, the view of the lake and mountains is spectacular. Then you can continue exploring the area by going hiking.
Explore the historical center of Lecco
Of course, another must-do in Lecco is a leisurely stroll through its narrow streets, churches and little squares. Don’t miss the Basilica of Saint Nicholas and its bell tower, and the Palazzo delle Paure (located next to the tourist office). It houses a museum of modern art and temporary exhibitions.
The market of Lecco
The market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays, you will find almost everything, good local products (fruits and vegetables, cheeses) and also stands of clothes and articles for the house. Just to enjoy the good atmosphere, it’s a trip to plan!
